The State Parks and Parks in town have restrooms in most areas; where as the Pacific Garden Mall downtown does not. Though the Bookshop Santa Cruz does have restrooms and a pleasant reading environment located at the end of the Mall by the Post Office and Town Clock.

If you need your car or truck worked on there are two mechanic shops that have given good service such as Putney & Perry near Front St/Laurel 831-426-1617.

On Ocean street as one drives in from Highway 17 from SFO or SJC there is Doc Auto at 908 Ocean St.Santa Cruz, CA 95060 (831-600-7732) They frequently have specials on oil changes and other work.

If you get locked out of your car or house some great locksmiths downtown are at Kenville Locksmiths 24 hour service, 831-423-3252 (they have a shop downtown Santa Cruz near the Main Branch of the Public Library and City Hall.

There is a Costco warehouse not far from the Downtown Santa Cruz area off River Street and Highway one.
